Recommended Resource

When the spark of the church seems like it's dying out, God has a way of reviving it. Just as a fire can be rekindled, so too can the passion and energy of a church be reignited by the power of God. This renewal can come in many forms, such as a revival of faith, a renewed sense of purpose, or a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God has a way of breathing new life into His church, even when it seems like all hope is lost.

God's Generals: The Roaring Reformers (Spiritual Biographies from the Reformation, Including Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wycliffe, John Hus, John Knox, and George Fox) (Volume 2) by Roberts Liardon is a book that introduces six influential reformers who fought to reintroduce the beliefs and principles of the early church in a time of oppression and darkness. The reformers include John Wycliffe, John Hus, Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, and George Fox. Each of these men made significant contributions to the spread of the gospel and the translation of the Bible into common language. The book also includes photos and encourages readers to appreciate their freedom to worship, find encouragement for spiritual battles, and seek biblical truth for their own lives.

In conclusion, when the church appears dim or weakened, history reminds us that God is more than able to rekindle its flame. The stories of reformers like Wycliffe, Hus, Luther, Calvin, Knox, and Fox stand as powerful testimonies that God raises up courageous men and women to restore truth, revive faith, and awaken His people. Just as He breathed new life into the church in their day, He continues to renew hearts and stir revival in ours. We hope this book will rekindle a new spiritual fire in you.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
