CODE OF ETHICS

Each member of God’s Family Global must agree to the following ethical standards in all aspects of life and ministry.  I will:

  1. Maintain high standards of moral, financial and spiritual integrity in all my life and ministries in order that the work of the Lord not be blamed.
  2. Actively pursue relationships and fellowship with the other ministries and churches within my locality, state, nation and network in accordance with the commands of Holy Scripture.
  3. Respect each person’s differences in style, and personality as they follow the Lord Jesus.
  4. Maintain a teachable spirit, and a willingness to learn from other leaders in the fellowship.
  5. Speak only in an edifying manner regarding other ministers and ministries of the Body of Christ.
  6. Have no part, directly or indirectly in contributing to a church split.
  7. Not establish nor seek to establish any other ministry within two (2) miles of the location of any church in which I have served as a member, minister, visiting minister volunteer staff or paid staff, unless I have permission in writing from the senior pastor. I will have no part whatsoever in attracting or seeking to attract any member or attendee of my previous church to be a part of new ministry.
  8. Support and give my loyalty to any pastor under whom I serve. If I cannot provide this commitment of support and loyalty, I will inform the pastor of that fact stating my reason(s) in a Christ-like manner and withdraw from the local church and seek to affiliate with another local church in which I can join in good conscience.
  9. Encourage and help younger ministers serving under me to excel in their areas of calling and bless them if they wish to leave in good faith.
  10. Follow the process as commanded in Scripture (Matthew 18:15-20 and I Cor. 6:1-8) when faced with a brother or sister in conflict or in violation of this code or other code or other biblical or moral standards.
  11. I have read the vision, purpose and goals of God’s Family Global. I agree to abide by them and submit wholeheartedly to the GFGN local and international leadership.

DISTINCTIVES

A. MINISTRY PERSPECTIVE

  1. No charlatans/hirelings – Must be called – Who is a minister – John 10:12-16
  2. No lords over God’s heritage – Servants of the Master for the flock – 1 Peter 5:3; 1 Cor 3:1-23.
  3. No workers of iniquity – Rewards – Matt 7:21, 25:14-30; 1 Cor 3:12-15; 2 Tim 4:6-8.
  4. No Simony – Buying the anointing with money – Acts 8:14-23
  5. No prophet for profit – 2 Peter 2:12-22; Num 22; 31:16, 25:1-3; 1 Kings 22:5-28
  6. No one-man business mentality – Called to a team – Luke 10:1-2; Mk 3:14-15
  7. No competition – Who is greatest – Luke 22:24-30

B. TITLES AND DESIGNATIONS

1. Archbishop and Bishop – We do not endorse Roman Catholic episcopal system and all its variations. We are servant leaders not glorified Old Testament priests or pharisees Mk 12:38; Mtt 23:1-13. The biblical model is plurality of bishops (overseers/elders) with one presiding bishop in one congregation Titus 1:5-9; Acts 13:1-3.

2. Honorary Doctorate – Endeavor to get an education and an academic degree (2 Tim 2:15). Honorary degrees should only be reserved for extraordinary circumstances. Not for status or fundraising.

3. Apostle and Prophet – 1 Cor 4:9-13; 2 Cor 11:13-15; Acts 19:13-16. Do not abuse these offices. Only few minsters are true apostles or prophets. These offices are not titles but serious responsibilities (James 3:1; 1 Cor 4:9-13). There are marks of an apostle and not all who prophesy are prophets.
